Cancer – Alternative Treatments

Having lost enough relatives to this disease, including my mother, this topic is very close to my heart. So when I stumbled across this website I just had to pass it on.

Not really knowing my much about the way of life in Europe, probably due to not having travelled there yet, a sister who has a friend over there says their approach to health is much different to say ours here in Australia and the United States.  I do know enough to acknowledge their world-class health-care systems and maternity leave practises.

My own company, with it’s head office in Norway has an excellent HSE requirement and places high priority on a good work-life balance for all its staff.

I mean one does wonder where all the money for charity, given to the many cancer organisations goes and still not one word of progress is reported???

Here are a few of my own learned anti-cancer tips:

  • Cook with coconut oil. As opposed to ALL other oils including olive oil as they are can not stand the heat and turn carcinogenic when done so.
  • Don’t drink from plastic bottles that have been heated. ie. water bottles left in cars.
  • Avoid preservatives & additives. Choose to eat mostly fresh & Organic food.
  • Drink white & green tea for their antioxidants.
  • Reduce your meat intake and eat Organic meat where possible.

Australia Vs America – Convict eyes on the Land of Liberty

I stumbled across this a while ago and thought it quite interesting, comical, maybe quite outdated and definitely one person’s idea but then I thought this world is made up really on just people’s ideas; all worth listening to/reading at least once if for no other reason to stimulate one’s own comtemplations.

“Americans maintain their sense of being god’s own country with a manifest destiny to lead the world to freedom and democracy. Australia has no global ambitions and those related to the region are for stability and economic advancement rather than dominance” – John Langmore

“Urban Austrlia was founded by English convicts, or to put it another way, England’s rejects. Urban America was founded by English puritans, or to put it another way, England’s weirdos. The difference between rejects and weirdos goes a long way to explaining the cultural differences between the two nations.

For different reasons, people in both Australia and America are reluctant to recognise their cultural uniqueness. Some Americans argue that Americans can’t be stereotyped as not everyone drives pick-up trucks and talks about when they were abducted by aliens. Likewise, a minority of Australians are obsessed with telling the world that the average Australian doesn’t wrestle crocodiles.”

Return to Innocence

 by Enigma

I was introduced to this song when I was about 16yrs.  It was at what I could call the beginning of my journey – the journey of self-discovery.

That’s not the beginning of the end

That’s the return to yourself

The return to innocence

Love – Devotion

Feeling – Emotion

Love – Devotion

Feeling – Emotion

Don’t be afraid to be weak

Don’t be too proud to be strong

Just look into your heart, my friend

That will be the return to yourself

The return to innocence

If you want, then start to laugh

If you must, then start to cry

Be yourself don’t hide

Just believe in destiny

Don’t care what people say

Just follow your own way

Don’t give up and use the chance

To return to innocence

That’s not the beginning of the end

That’s the return to yourself

The return to innocence

Don’t care what people say

Just follow your own way

Don’t give up and use the chance

To return to innocence.

If you want then laugh

If you must then cry

Be yourself don’t hide

Just believe in destiny

Tibet – a petition

Unfortunately, this saga continues.

“Often we read the news in horror about international events which we feel we have no control over. But sometimes there is a window when we have real power to play an active role in stopping human rights abuses overseas.

As Australians, we are in a unique position right now to help stop the cultural genocide taking place in Tibet. That’s because Kevin Rudd is visiting Beijing to meet the Chinese President and Premier – the two men who are able to put an end to this crisis. With the impending Beijing Olympics, where the world’s eyes will focus on China, we have a once in a decade chance to make a real difference.

Sign this urgent petition to Mr Rudd to use his influence – and his Chinese language skills – to stand up for the human rights of Tibetans when he visits China in just a few weeks.

As you read this, Tibetans are burying an unknown number of their dead from these recent protests – the number is unknown because China is keeping out all international media and human rights monitors. But China can’t afford too much damage to its international reputation – especially this year, when they are desperate to become a fully fledged member of the international community.

High-level foreign pressure is the best way to change their hard-headed stance and their violent means of enforcing it, and our Prime Minister is the best placed foreign leader to do that right now. Our PM is making the right noises but he needs all the encouragement he can get. Your signature on this petition will mean he leaves for Beijing armed not only with all the language and diplomatic skills necessary, but also with a mandate to advocate for rights, respect and autonomy.

China is Australia’s biggest trading partner – that doesn’t mean we have to be shy: it means we have a legitimate voice to discuss their international standing in the community of nations, to urge peaceful negotiation in the interests of economic and social stability. In the words of the Dalai Lama’s Australian representative, who has just endorsed our campaign – ‘China will listen to our Prime Minister’.

Let’s not waste this rare opportunity to actually make a difference to the imperiled lives of those abroad.” The Getup Team.
