In General:
“You are a modest and self-sacrificing person, searching tirelessly for what can make life truly meaningful and fulfilling. You need to believe in something, and you’re perfectly willing to spend a lifetime finding it. During this search, you don’t hesitate to make significant personal sacrifices, even when others would say that they are pointless or just too much. You are definitely more of a follower than a leader, and you can find it in you to adapt to almost any circumstance, and to compromise enough to do fine together with almost any other person. But you have your quest, which is so hard to complete, so you often find yourself giving up what you have, to move on. Maybe next time you find what you’re looking for. In the meantime, it happens that people take advantage of you, because of your willingness to comply, but it rarely hurts you. You are aware of it, and don’t mind paying that price.”

January 26 2009 – February 14 2010: Earth Ox
The Ox is thought to be the sign of prosperity through fortitude and hard work. The Ox is a power sign, like the Rat, Snake, Dragon, Tiger, and Monkey. They’re quite dependable and possess an innate ability to achieve great things. As one might guess, such people are dependable, calm, and modest. Like their animal namesake, the Ox is unswervingly patient, tireless in their work, and capable of enduring any amount of hardship without complaint.

Second Trine:
“The second trine consists of the Ox, Snake, and Rooster. These three soul mates conquer life through endurance, application, and slow accumulation of energy. Although each sign is fixed and rigid in opinions and views, they are genius in the art of meticulous planning. They are hardworking, discreet, modest, industrious, charitable, loyal, punctual, philosophical, patient, and good-hearted individuals with high moral standards. They can also be self-righteous, vain, critical, judgmental, myopic, narrow-minded, and petty.”
Element: Earth
“The earth person is functional, practical, solid, reliable, organized and methodical. They have good deductive powers and are able to show foresight and planning. They make effective administrators and are wise and prudent in finance. They are intelligent, objective, persistent, disciplined and responsible. However, they can also be unimaginative, over-protective, and pessimistic. The direction associated with Earth is the Centre. Some Chinese astrologers associate Earth with late summer. “
In General:
The Ox, it is thought, works hard, patiently, and methodically, with original intelligence and reflective thought. These people enjoy helping others. Behind this tenacious, laboring, and self-sacrificing exterior lies an active mind.
The Ox, according to tradition, is not extravagant, and a modern interpretation of this is that the thought of living off credit cards or being in debt makes them nervous. The possibility of taking a serious risk could cause the Ox sleepless nights.
Ox people are truthful and sincere, and the idea of wheeling and dealing in a competitive world is distasteful to them. They are rarely driven by the prospect of financial gain. These people are always welcome in small gatherings because of their humble composure and reverent nature towards the host. They are reputed to be the most beautiful of face in the zodiac. They have many friends, who appreciate the fact that the Ox people are wary of new trends, although every now and then they can be encouraged to try something new. People born in the year of the Ox make wonderful parents and teachers of children.
It is important to remember that the Ox people are sociable and relaxed when they feel secure, but occasionally a dark cloud looms over such people and they engage all the trials of the whole world and seek solutions for them.”

You take nothing for granted, and you don’t just adapt to what seems to be expected of you. You want to find your own way, do things the way you yourself think is the best. That leads to many quite original conclusions and habits. Since you don’t follow any trends, you have a behavior that is rather unconventional, sometimes even odd in the eyes of others. But it makes sense to you, and that’s what matters. You would not dream of living in a certain way, just because everyone else is.”

“Tar sands (also referred to as oil sands) are a combination of clay, sand, water, and bitumen, a heavy black viscous oil. Tar sands can be mined and processed to extract the oil-rich bitumen, which is then refined into oil. The bitumen in tar sands cannot be pumped from the ground in its natural state; instead tar sand deposits are mined, usually using strip mining or open pit techniques, or the oil is extracted by underground heating with additional upgrading.

Tar sands are mined and processed to generate oil similar to oil pumped from conventional oil wells, but extracting oil from tar sands is more complex than conventional oil recovery. Oil sands recovery processes include extraction and separation systems to separate the bitumen from the clay, sand, and water that make up the tar sands. Bitumen also requires additional upgrading before it can be refined. Because it is so viscous (thick), it also requires dilution with lighter hydrocarbons to make it transportable by pipelines.

You need to be independent, even though that might lead to limited resources and other difficulties. To you, freedom is a wealth surpassing that of money. Like the archer, you aim far. Your goals are distant, some would say unobtainable, but thereby they are also interesting, not to say spectacular – certainly to you. Only things that seem to be out of reach are worth reaching for.
